Spinal Stenosis Info

HOME

Spinal stenosis is a condition in which the spinal canal narrows and compresses the spinal cord and nerves. Most often it is due to the common occurrence of bulging discs, herniated discs, or spinal degeneration. Osteoporosis or a tumor can cause stenosis but are less likely to be the cause.

Spinal stenosis may affect the neck, middle back or low back areas of the spine. In some cases, it may be present in all three places in the same patient. Lumbar (lower back) spinal stenosis results in low back pain as well as pain or abnormal sensations in the legs, thighs, feet or buttocks, or loss of bladder and bowel control.

Cervical Stenosis in the neck results in neck pain, arm pain, headaches, shoulder pain, or tingling and numbness in the arms and hands.

Can Stenosis Be Helped? This is a question I most often am asked. And the answer is a resounding "YES"!!! Spinal Stenosis absolutely can be helped. During your initial evaluation the Doctor will determine if the Decompression Therapy will help out your particular case.
